“Leading Men”

Synopsis
Time: 1937
Location: The mansion of G Barrett, owner of the leading movie studio in Hollywood. The mansion is
located on a mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Field and Alex are guests of Big G at his west coast home. Alex is from the South and is very endearing.
Sarah is also there. The Countess is their only guest. Field and Alex have been roommates in Hollywood
for seven years. Field has been married and divorced twice. Alex has been married once. They have
lived together in a beach house for seven years. The studio wanted to do a magazine spread on the
eligible bachelors but the article made it look more like they were lovers than bachelors. The article
comes out while they are visiting. The questions during the play are whether or not they are lovers. Big G
decides to fix Field up with the countess and Alex up with Sarah’s friend. Sarah calls he young actress
friend to spend the week. Big G also invites Catherine to the house with her photographer to record the
visit for her column.
