"Trophy Husbands"

Synopsis
Time: Present
Location: The Hamptons and Cape Cod

Field, Alex, John and Clifford have been friends for over twenty years.  Alex and Clifford were partners for
twelve years.  Alex has been in a five-year relationship with twenty-five year old Bart.  They appear happy
but something is missing.  John and Clifford are content dating younger men.  They love showing off their
trophy husbands to each other.  John is dating twenty-three year old Tim while Clifford is dating a twenty-
year-old muscle man named Grayson.   Field is still waiting for the perfect relationship with someone his
own age.

They all have gathered in Alex and Bart’s Cape Cod home to celebrate their fifth anniversary.  Grayson,
who originally could not attend, has shown up to surprise Clifford.  Clifford arrives with a new date, Kyle.  
Bart recognizes Kyle as the person who bullied him all through school.  Things begin to stir as Alex and
Bart recognize their issues.  Kyle tries to make amends with Bart.  Field finds himself becoming interested
in Grayson  while John and Clifford realize that younger boyfriends don’t always make a person happy.

Cast of Characters:
  1. Alex – Forty-five years old.  Has been with Bart for five years.  Alex and Clifford were together for
    twelve years.  Alex is a very handsome and successful man.
  2. Bart – Twenty-five years old.  Became Alex’s boyfriend when he was twenty.  Has always considered
    himself a “Trophy Husband” although he would like to be regarded as a “Real Husband”.
  3. John – Forty something.  Always looking for love.  Has been dating Tim for three months.
  4. Tim – Twenty-three.  A dancer/actor.
  5. Clifford – Forty something.  Quite the man’s man.  Enjoys dating but never wants to get too serious.  
    He is very direct and thinks only of himself.  Has been dating Grayson for about a month.  He is also
    very successful.
  6. Grayson – Twenty years old.  Works out all the time and has a very muscular physique.
  7. Field – Forty something.  Always tries to be objective.  He has been best friends with Alex, John and
    Clifford for twenty years.  He is a successful playwright.
  8. Kyle - Kyle is twenty-five years old.  He is Clifford’s new boyfriend.  He was in school from first grade
    through the twelfth with Bart.  He was a bully in school.
