"Triple Knot"

Synopsis
Time: Present - Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Location: Tyler Phelp's New York apartment

Tyler, a forty-year-old writer, is in his first real relationship.  Ken, Tyler’s thirty-seven year old new love, has
just moved into his apartment.  They are still in the process of establishing their new relationship.  Tyler’s
best friends, Gerald, Bill and Marc join them in New York for their traditional Christmas gathering.  Bill and
Marc have been in a relationship for eighteen years.  They too are going through changes in their
relationship.  Tyler’s estranged Mother is the famous actress Iris Donahue.

During this particular Christmas Tyler and Ken are sharing their first Christmas together and adjusting to a
new relationship.  Marc, realizing he and Bill have stayed together out of convenience, decides he is in love
with Gerald.  Iris surprises Tyler with a Christmas visit and informs him that she plans to marry his father, the
man she divorced forty years before.  The characters learn that relationships can evolve at any age and
often by way of unpredictable partners.

Cast of Characters:
  1. Tyler Phelps – Forty years old.  A well-known novelist.  Tyler is the son of a very famous actress, Iris
    Donahue.
  2. Ken – Thirty-Seven years old.  A businessman.  Tyler’s new live-in partner.
  3. Iris Donahue – Sixty years old.  A famous film and stage actress.
  4. Gerald – Forty years old.  Tyler’s best friend.  He is in love with Marc.
  5. Bill – Forty-eight years old.  Marc’s partner for eighteen years.
  6. Marc – Forty-five years old.  Bill’s partner for eighteen years.  He is in love with Gerald.
