Field and Glenn are about to leave on vacation to celebrate their fifth anniversary. Their assistant
Sidney is wrapping things up so they can have a romantic weekend. Thomas, a neighborhood college
student who helps them around the house is also preparing to leave for the weekend. Field wants to
present Glenn with a new jaguar before they leave for the airport. He arranges for Glenn to go outside
to get another log for the fireplace so he can see the keys to the new jaguar attached to the front door.
Glenn opens the door he finds, instead, a basket with a baby.
Sidney arrives to work at the house a week later thinking that Field and Glenn are on their trip, She is
surprised to find the house full of baby things. She is also surprised when she hears that Field and
Glenn have decided to keep the baby. They have named the baby Rudy. Thomas, is continuing to go to
school and help them out with the baby. Sidney tries talking them into calling social services and locating
the mother. They present her with a letter written by the mother asking them to raise her child. The
letter states that she has been observing them and believes they will love her child. Field and Glenn say
they must wait until Tyler, their legal representative, comes home that weekend to help them arrange
things. Sidney decides to stay at the house until the weekend.
Several days later during a snowstorm, Dora Grant, Rudy’s real great grandmother arrives with
representative John. Dora informs them that the baby’s mother is her granddaughter. She also informs
